Read–Draw–Tell
Samay: 14 minute | Class 3

Chitra me: ek bachcha zameen par baithkar ek grey billi (cat) ka chitra bana raha hai; paas me crayons pade hain.
Bachcha kya karega? (Line by line)
- Adult reads one small sentence aloud: “The cat is grey.” (Adult ek chhota sentence padhe.)
- The child listens and draws what the sentence says. (Bachcha sunke wahi chitra banaye.)
- The child shows the drawing and says the sentence aloud. (Bachcha chitra dikhaye aur sentence bole.)
- Adult reads a second sentence: “The cat sits on a mat.”
- The child adds the mat to the drawing.
- The child tells both sentences in order, pointing at the drawing.
- The child draws one thing of his own and tells a sentence about it.
Kya seekhega? (Content box)
Listening to a sentence, drawing its meaning, and telling it back in order. (Sunna, chitra banana, phir kram me sunana.)
Aur ek udaharan: “The dog is brown.” suno, brown kutta banao, phir sentence bolkar dikhayo — drawing sundar na bhi ho to meaning sahi hona chahiye.
Samaan (ghar ka)
Paper, crayons or pencil. Nothing to buy. (Kagaz, crayon ya pencil. Kuch khareedna nahi hai.)
Mata-pita / teacher ke liye
14 minutes. First the adult reads slowly, then the child draws. Drawing need not be perfect — meaning matters. (Pehle adult dheere padhe, phir bachcha banaye.)
Parent tip — Try this (2–3 sawaal / badlaav)
- Ask: “What colour is the cat in your drawing? Why?” (Poochhein: tumhari billi ka rang kya hai?)
- Change: read a sentence about a dog and draw it. (Kutte wali line padhkar chitra banao.)
- The child tells the two sentences to another person at home. (Bachcha dono line ghar me kisi aur ko sunaye.)
end me bachche se ye line zor se bulwayein.
