Sentence Building and My 2-Line Diary — Notes

Ye notes Class 3 ke rozmarra ke topics par EG ke apne shabdon me likhe gaye hain — kram (order), anuman (predict) aur kaaran (give reason) par zor diya gaya hai. Ye kisi textbook ki nakal nahi hai.

Labelled picture: open diary notebook and a pencil

Chitra me: ek khuli diary (notebook) aur uske paas ek badi narangi pencil hai. Diary ke panne khaali hain taaki bachcha apni lines khud likhe.

Labelled picture: a black cat sitting beside a ball on grass

Chitra me: A black cat sits beside a ball on the grass. This picture shows the cat and the ball only — the sentence steps (one word, two words, full sentence) are in the label strip and the notes text, not written in the picture.

Line by line — pehle samjho

  1. A sentence is a full idea. It starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. (Sentence = poora vichar. Shuru capital letter se, ant full stop se.)
  2. Order (kram) matters. Words in the right order make sense: “I like apples.” Words in the wrong order do not: “Apples like I.”
  3. Build step by step. First one word: “Cat.” Then two words: “The cat.” Then a full sentence: “The cat is black.”
  4. Who + doing word: every simple sentence has a “who” (I, the cat, Raju) and a “doing word” (run, eat, sleep). Example: “Raju runs.”
  5. Ask, then answer: “What does the cat do?” — “The cat sleeps.” Pehle sawaal poochho, phir jawab ko poora sentence banao.
  6. Give a reason: “I like rain because it is cool.” “Because” (kyunki) joins your idea to its reason.
  7. My 2-line diary: line 1 = what I did today (“Today I played with my ball.”). Line 2 = how I felt or why (“I was happy because I won.”).
  8. Read it aloud: after writing, read your diary lines to someone. If a line sounds wrong, fix the order of the words.

Key Words — Yaad Rakhein

Sentence: a full idea with a capital letter and a full stop. Order: the right kram of words. Doing word (verb): run, eat, sleep. Because: kyunki — joins an idea to its reason. Diary: a notebook where you write about your day.

Yaad rakhne ka tareeka

Sentence banate waqt teen cheezein check karo — capital se shuru, who + doing word andar, full stop par ant. Phir zor se padhkar suno: agar sunne me theek lage to kram theek hai.

Ek aur udaharan: “The cat is grey because it sits in the sun.” — sentence + because + reason: poora vichar ek hi sentence me aa gaya.

Labelled picture: a happy child writing in a book at a desk, with sun and a small plant

Chitra me: A child writes in an open book, with the sun and a small plant nearby. The book pages look blank in this picture — the diary lines are for the child to write, as the notes explain.

Practice Questions — jawab ke saath

  1. Fix the order: “apples / like / I”. Answer: “I like apples.”
  2. Make a sentence with “run”. Example: “Raju runs fast.”
  3. Why do we use “because”? Answer: because it tells the reason (kyunki) for an idea.
  4. Write line 1 of a diary: what did you do today? Example: “Today I read a book.”
  5. Add line 2 with a feeling and a reason. Example: “I was happy because the story was funny.”
Today I learnt that…

end me bachche se ye line zor se bulwayein.
